Book A Tour

Nicaragua has some of the world’s most recent and spectacular geology. The Nicaraguan depression has created a mini-rift valley that is home to great lakes, active volcanoes and numerous crater lakes. Nicaragua has one of the world’s youngest volcanoes and numerous calderas and they are easily accessed from Nicaragua’s major towns. There is also an interesting contrast between rustic method gold mining and state of the art geothermal power, as well as some fun sports like kayaking, zip-lining and volcano sledding. This Nicaragua study tour is a way for students to get the most of their precious vacation time bringing their long hours of study to life with a very active geology tour. We invite geology professors to create their own itinerary or work with us in planning a special one that includes elements which they wish to emphasis. Below is an idea to get the juices flowing, a tour that is both fun and informative, an active tour of active geology.
